It's no doubt to say that in recent years macaron has become one of the most famous cakes in the world. A classic French treat made up of two almond meringues turned to each other, 'glued' together with some flavored cream, ganache or jam. Despite it originally appeared in Venice in the 14-15th century, and its name comes from the Italian word maccarone / maccherone, yet it became known in France and has become one of the most characteristic French confectionery products today. It reached its worldwide fame in the 2010s: macaron festivals are held and a long line of macaron-flavuored foods (e.g. ice creams) have appeared, not to mention that it has even set foot in the fashion industry thanks to its iconic appearance.
